“I had been shackled, a prisoner in my own mind. You don’t entirely get a clear picture of what the characters are fighting against and it was difficult to imagine how bad The Reestablishment actually was. I wanted to see more vivid descriptions of the living conditions of civilians and what things The Reestablishment was doing to make their lives a misery. This a downside to the entire series is that it lacks the world-building you need for a dystopian series. This meant that because of the first-person perspective we don’t get to see much of the world at all. What’s also unfortunate is that once again we find ourselves confined in a single space, which was Warner’s training/gym room. They are either training their powers or stuck watching the love triangle between Adam, Warner and Juliette (which I have to admit was wildly entertaining). ![]() In fact, it is all quite mundane as the majority of the time we are just seeing Juliette and everyone else prepare to overthrow The Reestablishment. Plot-wise there is not much happening in this book. But whilst doing all this Juliette must come to terms with the fact Warner is not all she thought he was and that feelings are beginning to blossom. Juliette embarks on a journey where she learns to hone her powers and save the world from the corrupt government that seeks to destroy them. Broken by the news, Juliette vows to rise against The Reestablishment but she must rely on Warner, the handsome leader of Sector 45. She has no idea if Adam, Kenji and the rest of friends are alive. After surviving the fatal blow from Anderson thanks to Warner, Juliette finds out that Omega Point has been destroyed. Ignite Me picks up straight off from the events of Unravel Me. But I managed to fly through the series this month but was left slightly torn on what to think about the finale.ĭISCLAIMER: Even though I know Mafi has gone back to the series I have decided to form my review of Ignite Me as if I read in back in 2014 and before Restore Me came out in 2018. It seems like reading late has become a bit of a habit that needs to go as I start my final semester at university soon. Ignite Me is the third and final book of the Shatter Me series or was the final book until Tahereh Mafi created the Restore Me series! I managed to finish Ignite Me a few weeks ago ridiculously late at night.
